Marcin Rząsa

Sculptor, son of Halina and Antoni Rząsa, husband of Magda and father to Franek, Hela, and Marta. In the years 1980-1985 he studied at the Antoni Kenar State High School of Fine Arts in Zakopane. In 1985, he started his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. A year later, he moved on to the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he continued his studies in the studio of Professor Jan Kucz. He defended his diploma under the supervision of Professor Grzegorz Kowalewski in 1991. In the years 1994-1995 he studied at the VSVU [Academy of Fine Arts and Design] in Bratislava in the studio of Jozef Jankovic. Since his graduation, he has presented his art in many exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Since 1986, he has been running the Antoni Rząsa Gallery in Zakopane. He has been the head of the Antoni Rząsa Foundation since 1991. He collaborates, among others, with the Tatra Mountains Museum [Muzeum Tatrzańskie], the Tatra Mountain National Park [Tatrzański Park Narodowy], and the Mountain Film Meetings Association [Stowarzyszenie Spotkania z Filmem Górskim]. He is the author of the exposition in the Oksza villa, one of the branches of the Tatra Mountain Museum. He is a Tatra Mountain guide. He lives and works in Zakopane.
